Fred. Olsen launches 79-night Chilean Fjords cruise

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Bolette will embark on a 79-night Latin America with Chilean Fjords cruise on January 4, 2022 departing from the Port of Southampton.

Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Brazil, including overnight stays in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires are included; the ship will traverse Cape Horn, the mountains and glaciers of the Chilean Fjords and transit the Panama Canal.

Shore excursions

A call at Robinson Crusoe Island and a visit to a Chilean vineyard are among the highlights.

Martin Lister, head of destination experience and itinerary planning, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines said the cruise will enable ‘opportunities to uncover the history of ancient civilisations of the Incas at Machu Picchu in Peru and the Maya at Chichen Itza in Mexico; learn the steps to the Samba and the Argentine Tango in the place of their origin and witness the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue and Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.’

He went onto add that excursions will also comprise ‘the chance to join a gaucho on an Argentinian cattle ranch to learn the important of his trade, spend time with the Uro community at Peru’s Lake Titicaca and take in the collection of tumbling waterfalls on a visit to Iguazu National Park on the Brazilian border.’
